The standard engine is fairly robust, coming with 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. If you prefer having more capability, you'll be pleased with the turbo models. They can make 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
The Subaru Outback comes standard with all-wheel drive and X-MODE. The all-wheel-drive system is always ready to make adjustments if the situation calls for it, and X-MODE can enhance performance when you're dealing with particularly tough conditions. Hill Descent Control and Traction Control are some other standard features. With the proper equipment, a standard Subaru Outback can tow up to 2,700 pounds. A Subaru Outback that's been upgraded with a turbocharged engine can haul up to 3,500 pounds.
